So sweet

This LO is from the same weekend crop as my last layout - I used the same SPCS kit so lots of Websters papers and some AC washi from my stash. I also added some stickles, AC Thickers and buttons with twine. The weekend has a candy theme thus the candy table :)  I have my eyes closed in the picture but that is about the only picture I had of us so used it anyway :P For a scrapbooker, I often have camera fails - I am pretty bad about getting it out to take photos if it is not a "kid" event

Thanks for all the sweet comments on previous posts- they make my day :)

Class Act

I really am un-fond of this photo of me but sometimes you have to work with what you have :P

A couple summers ago, Debby Schuh came to teach a few classes at the birthday bash of a sort of local SS that is unfortunately now closed. So, the title is a play on words. Debby is super nice and her mini-book classes are well-documented, low pressure and full of fun ways to include fold-out or hidden pages

This LO started with scraps from an older Sweet Peach kit plus stuff from my stash.

Supplies: The PPs are jillibean and websters (I think); tapes are from hambly; Prima flwoers; MM bling; TA glimmer mists; TCW mask, AC Thickers, Bazzill CS

Beauty

I love the "whatchu talkin bout willis" expression on my SIL's face. But, I also love how the shirt she was wearing brings out the color of her eyes. And I happen to think she is beautiful inside and out. So, the title has a hint of silliness to it :P

I used an old Sweet Peach kit for this. I've been trying to use some of my old ones up a bit :P Esp since I joined a kit club again recently and already have a "store" in my craft room *LOL*

Supplies: Authentique PP; Bazzill CS; PP wood veneer alphas; Glitz letters; Pebbles stickers; SC Mr Hueys; tag and sequin unknown

Too Cute

A while back, I bought the Pieces of Me class kit from 2Peas and Studio Calico. The class is taught bu Maggie Holmes and is a minibook which I hardly ever make. So, skipped the class :P Anyway, I started this LO at archivers a couple weeks ago and finished it this past weekend.

There is a super cool museum here that has a whole area where kids can "pan" for gold and gems. My mom and I took my nieces and sons a couple summers ago and they had a blast. 3 of the kids are in this pic but the journaling is about N sticking her tongue out just a little while she was concentrating. I know I used to do the same thing and I think it is both cute and funny.

Supplies: SC, EP, and MME papers; Ranger liquid pearls; SC clips, veneers; SC and AC letters; ribbon, tag, doily and sequins were all part of the kit but branding unknown; OA sprinkler; MM stapler

Carnivals and Washi = Fun

I have a serious love affair with Washi and Decorative tapes. I am just a tiny bit embarrassed to admit I must have 50 or so rolls with a few more on the way. So, while at Archivers a couple months ago, I decided to use them in lieu of much PP. This was actually pretty quick and easy to put together and I really ended up loving the final result :)

Supplies: Pebbles and Scenic Route PP;  Tapes are by PP, MME, AC and one unknown (can't remember); Letters are SC and AC. CS is Bazzill, TCW Mask, and mist SC

Secret Agent

I love this picture of my oldest. One hand-me-down trench-coat + some sunglasses = one super cool dude. I was late to the game with buying OA Rocket Age but I loved it so much I finally caved even though I wasn't sure what I'd do with "space" stuff. Turns out I think it works for secret and mysterious stuff too - esp all the cut-out adverts for things like decoder Rings. *LOL* The only non-OA is bling from Kaiser Craft and foam glitter letters from Creative Imaginations

It's been a long time and a whole lot of crazy

This is not my normal style and I am not sure I even like it but it was my first crack at a very meaningful story which is told in hidden journaling. My dad planted 3 red rose bushes by their driveway a few yrs ago. When he died on July 10 (after a year-long battle with esophageal cancer), there was nothing dramatic about his actual death. But, 8 days later, I suddenly noticed a full white bloom at the top of one of the bushes. The END of one branch that is otherwise still producing red (and is above the graft) has now produced 4 white roses and has 2 new white buds.

Anyway, my dad's recurring cancer and death explain both the absence and the crazy. But, I have scrapbooked some this summer so am going to try to start blogging again .

Supplies: white AC cardstock, SC Mr Huey (school house), TA glimmer mist (red-nose reindeer?), white primas, AC Thickers, SC doily stamp set, Ranger embossing powder (polysparkle white)
